The trick with the people I grew up with is to not let them get you alone. Make sure there are always witnesses. Because they will say things in private that they'd never admit to in public, that go against the public image they want to present.
You cannot TRUST them. They are unfair and have no qualms or scruples about DOING WHATEVER THEY FEEL LIKE and then MAKING IT YOUR FAULT THAT YOU GOT HURT.
They always claim that their meanness, their cruelty, their insensitivity and unkindness has nothing to do with it.

I want MY people to be OPEN, FAIR, TRUSTING and TRUST WORTHY.
