maybe it's all about power games

and if you don't seem to understand the 'rules', you actually kind of make the other people nervous?

Scratching my head. I'm thinking of different people and different relationships, trying to see some kind of pattern that makes sense to me.

It begins to all feel like quicksand, like I can't trust my senses or my intuition. Every time I think I'm beginning to understand something, it all slips away and becomes - some kind of twisted nightmare, where no one and nothing can be trusted to be what it seems on the surface.
